  • Discuss the visible scalp areas and hairstyle you want the design to work with.
  • Review the planned hairline or density effect, pigment direction and area boundaries.
  • Understand the individual treatment stages, care and review arrangements.
  • Review skin preparation, sterile single-use pigment tools and the precautions for the specific treatment area before pigment work begins.

Before choosing

  • New or unexplained hair loss needs appropriate medical assessment before a camouflage decision.
  • Future hair changes and pigment changes can affect how a design looks over time.
Preparing for treatment
  • Bring photographs showing your usual hairstyle and the coverage concern.
  • Have new or unexplained hair loss assessed medically; disclose scalp conditions, scars and previous transplant or pigment work.
  • Confirm hair-length preparation before changing your haircut for an appointment.

Aftercare

  • Wash your hands before touching the treated area. Clean gently using the treatment-specific instructions; do not scrub, pick flakes or add exfoliating products.
  • Keep makeup off recovering skin and avoid soaking, swimming and direct sun while it heals. Follow the individual care plan for products and when activities can resume.
  • Seek prompt medical advice for spreading redness, worsening pain, pus or fever. Tell Zoe about concerns as well; a cosmetic review does not replace medical care.
Follow-up
  • Review settled colour and the condition of the treated area before additional pigment is planned.

Does SMP restore hair growth?

No. It changes the appearance of scalp coverage through pigment marks. It is not a treatment for the cause of hair loss.

Is it only for a shaved hairstyle?

The aim may be a closely shaved appearance or less visible scalp contrast within existing hair. The design and its limitations should be assessed for your hairstyle.

Can the design account for future hair changes?

Discuss likely hairstyle and hairline preferences, but future hair loss and pigment changes cannot be predicted or frozen by SMP.
